Dear Brownie, Bob, and the Barrett Family,
We extend our most sincere sympathy to you upon the loss of your mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. We will never forget the friendliness and kindness that she extended to us when she and your father were gracious hosts for our annual meetings at their Virginia farm. Her warm smile, her concern for the comfort of her guests, and her love for her family and friends will always be remembered by us. If there is anything at all we can do to help you, please let us know.

Bob,Linda and Brownie,
Just wanted to let you all know how sorry I was to hear about your mom. Mom (Nancy) called to tell me that Bob had called. You all have been so good to my mom and I know she really loved your mom and dad. She thinks the world of you all and I know it wont be the same without "mother ann" and "grand man". If there is anything at all we can do for ya'll just let us know. Wendy

Dear Barrett Family,
To Elizabeth, or Brownie, as I knew you, you may remember me as a little girl in WV. Your mother is a very special memory of my childhood, as was your father. I had only a few encounters with your parents, but they made an important impression on me. They showed me that people can love others no matter where they come from or the circumstances they live in. They were very special people and I wanted you to know my deepest sympathy and prayers are with you at the recent loss of your precious mother, as well as the not long ago loss of your father.
May God Bless your family with His abundant peace and comfort your hearts at this time.
Love and Prayers,
Lorie Williams (Pettry)

I was so sad to learn of Ann's passing. I never visited her in later years but often asked about her through Beulah.
Ann and I took a disco class together in Beckley...she was always 20 years younger in actions than her real age. Plus, I even enrolled in her belly dancing class at the old Mt. View School. We had a great time back then. We spent many free moments in the furnace room back in the less stressful days of teaching as you well know Brownine.
She will be greatly missed by all of us who knew her at Mt. View.
I used to enjoy those form letters every Christmas but for some reason they stopped coming. I really never knew why we drifted apart but things happen and time goes on...just wanted to let you know that Ann was a dear friend and many chats and tales were told between us.
May God be with your family in this time of great sadness.
