Miller, Marilyn Chaffin
August 29, 1939 - August 27, 2010
On Friday, August 27th, 2010 our most loved Marilyn Chaffin Miller and her dear husband Melvin and their beloved daughter -in-law, Tina perished in an automobile accident on Interstate 95 in Northern Virginia. They were en-route to Beckley.
Marilyn Chaffin was born on August 29, 1939 at Sophia, the 4th of eight children born to the late Henry and Mabel Hodges Chaffin. A brother, Jack and sister, Joann Graham have preceded her in death.
Marilyn grew up in Sophia, graduating from Sophia High School, Class of 1957. After high school she settled in the Northern Virginia area, where she met her husband, Melvin who was in service. They settled in Stafford where they have been long time residents. Marilyn had a long career with Giant Foods in Stafford. Marilyn will be remembered for her outgoing personality. She loved to come back to Beckley to visit family, friends and former classmates.
Marilyn and Melvin were blessed to have two sons, Gregory Clifton who was married to the former Tina Wheby and Kenny Lee. They were the doting grandparents of one grandson Matthew and the proud great grandparents of Emily Nicole. Marilyn was the fond sister of Thomas, John and Jimmy Chaffin all of Stafford, Brenda Reese of Frederick, MD and Nancy Lytton of Beckley.
Joint services for Marilyn, Melvin and Tina will be held Thursday, Sept. 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Choice Baptist Church in Stafford. Burial will follow for Marilyn and Melvin in the Quantico National Cemetery at Triangle, VA. Tina will be entombed at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Fredericksburg, VA.
And so now we must remember, Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God that passeth all understanding…” |
