Wilson, Nettalene

On Sunday, January 22, 2012 our most loved, Nettalene Barker Wilson of the Oak Grove Community passed away peacefully at the Bowers Hospice House. She was in her 78 the year. Affectionately called "Nett" by her family, Nettalene was the second of nine children. Born on April 7th, 1933, at Plain Mill Holler in Eccles, her parents were the late Joseph Frank and Ina Naomi Lewis Barker. Her sister, Jewel Hales has preceded her in death. A member of the Oak Grove Christian Church, Nettalene was a devoted homemaker to her family. She enjoyed quilting, crafts, and cooking. She loved her family unconditionally, as a Mother and Grandmother always does. In addition to her parents and sister, Nettalene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward "Mick" Wilson. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Linda Tolbert and her husband, Jim of Oak Grove, her son, Joe Keller and his wife, Jennie of Sunny Acres, a son, Jerry Wayne Keller has preceded her in death; she was the doting "Maw Maw" of six grandchildren, Jo Ann Tolbert, Connie Alfrey, James Paul Tolbert, Kori and Katie Keller. Her grandson, Kasey Keller has preceded her in death. Nettalene was the proud great grandmother of Chandler, Ashton, Bryce, Cheyenne, Ryan and Kahne; the fond sister, of Donnie, John"Sambo," Mervin and Pete Barker and Glenna Cole, Vicky Cornet and "Jack" Arthur. On Thursday, Jan. 26th, at 1:00 pm we will remember the life of Nettalene with a "Service of Remembrance" at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Kelly Gowen will be officiating. Nettalene will then be laid to rest in the Sunset Memorial Park. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9pm and one hour prior to the services on Thursday. The family suggests that donations of sympathy can be made to the Bowers Hospice House, PO Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802 The family wants to publicly thank Raleigh General Hospital, Health South, Raleigh Center and especially Bowers Hospice House. And to her old friend and physician, Dr. Golden there are simply not words to express how good you were to our Nettalene.
