Bob G. Ellison, of Whitestick Road, Beckley passed away Wednesday February 1, 2012 .He was 75 years of age. Bob was born on May 28, 1936 at Beckley. His parents were the late John R. Ellison, Sr. and Ester Mae Lilly Ellison. Bob spent his childhood in Wickham and Mabscott. Bob was of Christian faith and attended Oak Grove Church. Bob worked in the coal industry for 25 years and enjoyed golf, hunting and football. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death three brothers Emory H. Ellison, Billy Ellison, Charles Ellison, three sisters Garnet Brammer, Christine Simms and Mary Owen and his companion of 30 years Nellie Hutchens. Bob leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Carol Meadows and husband Kevin of Beckley, grandchildren Justin Flint and fiancé Candice Senepole of Beckley and Stephanie Boggs and husband Michael of Ronceverte, great grandchildren Kayla Flint, Michael David Boggs and Tori Boggs, two brothers John Ellison Jr and wife Sally of Beckley and Joe Ellison and wife Dianna of Greenville WV and host of nieces and nephews and special neighbors and friends Kevin and Joy Weikle and Joan Brunk. On Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 1:00 pm we will remember the life of Bob with a "Service of Remembrance" at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Mr. Ken Overdorf will be officiating. Bob will then be taken to the Oak Grove Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Pallbearers will be his brothers and other family members. The family will receive friends from eleven until the service hour. Special thanks to Mary’s Garden staff in Oak Hill for their love and care they provided during his illness.
