Ross, James
July 08, 1958 - February 15, 2012
On Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, James Jeffrey Ross of North Oakwood Avenue our most beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend was received into the Lord’s loving arms following a long illness. He was 53 years of age.
Known as “Jeff” by all who knew him, he was never seen without a smile. Jeff’s patriotism ran deep as blood, especially if you agreed with his passionate Republican point of view. Ever the typical male, you could find him planted in front of the TV for NASCAR every Sunday. A truck driver by profession, his job was always much more than that to him. Jeff adored every minute of the 32 years he spent “On the Road Truckin.” Jeff was a fiercely loving man. Devoted. Loyal. Kind. Understanding. Protective. Hardworking. Jovial. God-fearing. He was our “Calm in the Storm,” our “Knight in Shining Armor” our “Shoulder to Lean On,” and our “Rock to Help Us Stand.”
Those left to cherish is memory are his wife of 30 years, Pamela Stoots Ross; daughters, Christie and Faith Ross both of Beckley; his father William Ross and his wife, Judy of Three Oaks, MI; brothers and sisters, Bill Ross and his wife, Tina of Bradley, Phillip Ross and his wife, Teresa of 5 Points, AL, Greg Ross and his wife, Melanie of Newman, GA, Kay Green and her husband, Rick of Fairdale, Darci Knapp and her husband, Todd of Prairie du Chien, WI, Jennifer Ross Williams and her husband, Adam of Three Oaks; special friend and brother-in-law, Rick Stoots of Crab Orchard; his mother-in-law, who he loved as a mother, Virginia Stoots. A large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws also survive.
Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Golda Moveda Ball Ross and a very treasured and special uncle, Delmer Ball and now, “Oh Glad Reunion.”
On Saturday, February 18th at 1:00 pm we will remember the life of James Jeffrey Ross with a “Service of Remembrance” at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Don Kelly will be officiating. Matthew Stoots, Robbie Fulco, Kris Donovan, Paul Bradshaw, Richard, James, Phil, and Josh Ross will carry Jeff to his resting place at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the service hour at the mortuary.
