Lorene (Betty) Campbell of Beckley died Wednesday, February 15th, 2012 at Heartland Nursing Home following a long illness. She was in her 80th year. Born April 14th, 1931 at Bossevain, Virginia, "Betty" as she was affectionately known was the daughter of the late Sterling and Della Mae Boone Davidson of Detroit, Michigan. Her brothers and sister, James and Claude Davidson and Dorothy Bearre have preceded her in death. Betty was raised in Virginia and attended Virginia public schools, the last being Pocahontas High School. She was an avid reader and a member of the Calvary Assembly of God. In addition to her family, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Bernard Ralph Campbell , in Oct. of 1991 and a granddaughter, Donna Jo Campbell. Her children are Rosa McKinney (Matt Mitchell), B.R. Campbell Jr. (Nancy), Hoppy Campbell(Kathy), Dorothy Lorene Roach (David), Betty Jo Miller (Tony), Jake Campbell (Tina), Randy Campbell (Cathy), and Della Sue Campbell (Kenny Daniels); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. The Funeral will be held Saturday, February 18th at 3:00 pm at the Calvary Assembly of God, 319 Sunset Drive, Beckley. Brother John Jordan and Brother George Mandacunis will be officiating. Committal services will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton at 4:30 pm. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7 to 9pm at the Melton Mortuary, 1200 Harper Road, Beckley and one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church.
