Sheila Jane Maynor Lykins-Ammons, 69, of Mt. Hope, died Monday morning in a Morgantown, WV hospital as a result of complications from cancer. She was born August 27, 1954, in Beckley, WV the daughter of Joseph F. Maynor and Mary E. Kirk. Sheila was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County and grew up in Blue Jay, WV. Sheila graduated from Shady Spring High School in 1972. She would later attend nursing school earning her RN retiring from that profession . Sheila was a member of the Blue Jay United Methodist Church. Sheila loved her granddaughter very much and loved spending time with her. She loved her cat, Babee. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, reading, puzzles, and other hands on activities. Sheila was preceded in death by her two sons Thomas J. Lykins and Kenneth J. Lykins. Survivors include one granddaughter, Lillian N. Lykins; two daughters Kimberly D. Lykins and Tara L. Lykins; and her finial partner in life of 23 years, David Wallace. Pallbearers will be John McNeel and David Wallace. In keeping with Sheila, and the families wishes, services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center.
