On Friday, October 25th, 2019, our beloved, Dee Dee Corey passed away in her 91st year.

Affectionately known as Dee Dee all her life, Daisy Dean Bailey was the first of two daughters born to Elmer Ray and Irene Crawford Martin Bailey.  Her sister, Diann Bailey Powers Wolfe has preceded her in death.   The family worshiped at First Christian Church.

A graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1945, she would further her studies at Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia.   Dee Dee had a long time career at the Bank of Raleigh.  In addition to the Bailey family, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Pete Wilburn; a son, Gregory Mark Wilburn and her second husband, Matthew “Mates” Corey.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted daughters, Susan Larson (husband, Art) of Golden, CO; Kathy Nordlund (husband, Willis) of Glen Morgan; Nancy Korczyk (husband, Doug) of Beckley; dear grandmother of John Nordlund ( wife, Nicole), Kori Korczyk, Kacy Korczyk (fiancé Ash Ahmad), and Kristie Korczyk ; proud  great- grandmother of Presley and Lennon; her faithful canine companion, Kacy.

A “Service of Remembrance” will be Friday, November 1st at 1:00 pm in the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Don Snyder will be officiating.   Entombment in the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum, the family is receiving friends at 12 noon. Pallbearers will  be her family members and Mike Cavendish.
