Frankie Slate Obituary

Frankie James Slate, Jr., 73, of Beckley, passed away at home on Sunday, November 3rd, 2019. He was born in Beckley, WV on October 3rd, 1946.
Frankie was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing (especially with his good friend, Richard Austin) and enjoyed searching for Native American artifacts, of which, he had found and collected many. He was an Army veteran and had retired from Bailey's Lumber Company in Lewisburg, WV.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank James Slate, Sr., step father, Juan 'Johnny' Torres, mother, Ethel 'Betty' Torres, son, Frankie John Slate, sister, Sandra Kay McGhee and his brother, James 'Toad' Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Davis Slate, 3 children, Sarah, Barbara and Joseph, 2 brothers, Robert Lee Davis and Okey Manuel Slate, Sr., 2 sisters, Betty Jane Jeffrey and Linda 'Lynn' Torres and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.
A service will be held at noon on Thursday, November 14th, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Park on Harper Road, Beckley, WV, with Pastor Okey Slate and Pastor Denn Hughes officiating.
