Gerald Emanual Daniel, 89, died peacefully on Feb. 26, 2019 in Hendersonville, Tenn. Mr. Daniel was a native West Virginian. He was born to Elson and Alice (Milam) Daniel on Aug. 3, 1929 in Bolt and lived there until his teenage years when the family bought a farm in Glen Daniel.
Mr. Daniel attended Trap Hill High School and enlisted in the Army in 1945. He was honorably discharged and enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1950. He was honorably discharged again and worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. postal service for 25 years, mostly in South Charleston. He retired in 1984 and soon relocated back to Glen Daniel.
Mr. Daniel was a proud father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Patty Daniel and Nancy Wiley.
He is survived by two sons; James Robert Daniel, of Raleigh County, and Glen Kevin Daniel, of Kingston, Tenn.; three daughters, Vicki Daniel and Karen Daniel, of Nashville, Tenn., and Lisa Daniel of Burke, Va.; and two grandchildren Nolan Daniel Johnson and Natalie Erin Johnson, of Burke, Va., two sisters, Dolores Daniel and Ernestine Daniel, of Dayton, Ohio.
Committal services will be held at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Beckley WV at 2 P.M. Wednesday March 6th, 2019. Friends may call at the Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center Chapel from 12 until 1PM. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
