Jerry Thomas Hancock

Jerry Thomas Hancock 70 of Beckley passed away Monday, September 2nd, 2019 at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg WV following a long illness. Born June 7th, 1949 in Beckley he was the son of the late Harold Houston and Mary Piziak Hancock.

Jerry was an incredibly strong man with a fierce love for his family. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran. An avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt with his best friend Ronnie Bower. Before retiring Jerry was a Union Coal Miner for 29 years.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Lee Hancock.

Jerry is survived by; his wife of 34 years Janet Hancock of Beckley, one son Brandon Hancock and wife Mary of Lehigh Acres FL, Two daughters, Jennifer Davis and Crystal Hancock both of Beckley, one brother Billy Hancock and wife Susan of Beckley, two grandchildren, Bela Davis and Kyler Hancock.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 P.M. Friday, September 6th, 2019 at the Oak Grove Christian Church on Oak Grove Road in Beckley with Minister John Wittmann officiating. Friends may call from 12 noon until the time of service on Friday. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Church Cemetery.
