On Friday, November 22nd, 2019 our most cherished, Joyce Darlene O’Neal passed away at the Bowers Hospice House.    She was 60 year of age.

Affectionately known as Darlene all her life, she was born on March 18th, 1959, in Beckley.   She was the daughter of Alta Adkins and the late Gaston O’Neal.

Darlene spent her childhood at Cool Ridge.  She had worked for the Salvation Army until she became ill with cancer. Darlene enjoyed cooking and sewing in her leisure time.

In addition to her mother, those left to cherish her memory include a sister, Carol Baldwin and her husband, Danny of Cool Ridge; brothers, Jerry O’Neal and his wife, Vi of Daniels, Gaston “Sonny” O’Neal and his wife, Virginia of Deltona, Florida Jeff Lehew and his wife, Brie of Beckley; several nieces and nephews survive as well.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 30th at 11:00 am in the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Matthew Hill will be officiating.   The family will be receiving friends at 10:00 am.   The burial will be in the Meador Cemetery at Pluto.
