Karl Elwyn Sauer Sr

Karl Elwyn Sauer Sr of Fairdale, WV passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2019.

Karl was born on September 6, 1949 in Guatanamo Bay, Cuba.  He will be best remembered for the love and dedication he showed his family and friends.  He had a personality that was unique, infectious and could never be replicated.

Karl served in the US Navy and was a proud Vietnam Veteran who received the purple heart prior to an honorable discharge.

Karl is survived by his loving and dedicated wife Penny Sauer; Sister Kylene Sauer of Vinton, VA; Daughter Amanda Jeffries of Sophia; Daughter Emily Cales and her husband Zach of Daniels; Step son Bozie Fox of Berkley Springs; Grandchildren Makaylah Jeffries, Khloeigh Brown, Destiny Fox, Kolton Sauer, Brinlee Cales, Jaycee Cales, & Christian Fox.

He is preceded in death by his son Karl Sauer Jr, step son Shawn Fox, parents Carl and Lue Alta Sauer and Roy and Violet Fanning.

Services will be in the Melton Mortuary Chapel on Saturday July 13, 2019 at 12-2 PM for friends and family.
