Luther "Butch" Reed

Luther "Butch" Reed, age 97, formerly of Beckley, WV, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019, at his son's residence in Dover, DE.

Born on August 20, 1921, he was the son of the late Jim and Angeline Davis-Reed (Rainey).

Luther was retired from the Westmoreland Coal Company and was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church.

Butch loved the outdoors; enjoying hunting and fishing; His passion though was golf and you could find him hitting golf balls about any time you stopped by his house.

A great man, a loving husband, father, and father-in-law, he also loved his neighbors and golfing buddies.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Reed; his son Douglas Reed; his two brothers, Clarence "Cotton" Reed, and Orbin "Seaweed" Reed; and a sister Daisy Reed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Greg Reed, and daughter-in-law, Donna Pack-Reed.

Mr. Reed will have private funeral services followed by entombment in the Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley WV.
