Michael Dale Scarbrough  (May 11,1956 – October 30, 2019)

Michael (Mike) Scarbrough, 63, passed away peacefully at home after a brave battle with cancer surrounded by family. Mike is proceeded in death by his parents Wesley and Margaret Scarbrough. Brothers Darrell, Charles, Sherman (Max) & Wife Sue, Larry, Johnny & Wife Elizabeth (Liz), Gary, and Ricky Scarbrough. Sisters, June Sutton & Husband Norman and sister in-law Jo Ann Scarbrough. Nephew John Melvin Scarbrough Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Tiffany and Michelle Scarbrough FL. Brother Kenneth Scarbrough SC, Sisters Karen Slaughter (Tillman) of Lookout WV, Marilyn Richards (Jesse) Fayetteville WV, Sister in-law Linda Scarbrough (Ricky) Fayetteville WV and Sister in-law Debbie Scarbrough FL. Special Nieces & Nephews Connie Everett Oak Hill and Leslie Tweedie & Robert Jeffries Fayetteville and Richard Scarbrough Fayetteville. Mike leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends all of whom he loved and cherished.

Born and raised in Fayetteville West Virginia, Mike was a carpenter throughout his life, he was also an avid hunter and had a passion for fishing. Mike never met a stranger. He enjoyed life to the fullest telling stories of the “old days” with his time spent fishing and hunting with his brothers whom of which were his best friends. He was always there to brighten the lives of his family members with his kind eyes and soft smile. He thrived on the exchange of conversation and was committed to his family making sure they knew he had their support. Mike was considered like a second father to his nieces and nephews along-side his brothers and sisters as they taught them necessary life skills such as how to swim and live off the land “hunt and fish”, and instilled family values upon his loved ones. He will truly be missed by his loved ones, but his memory will never be forgotten.

 As per Mike’s wish’s he will be cremated and remains buried at the Scarbrough family cemetery along side his parents, brothers, and sisters. There will be a graveside service at a “later date”. In leu of flowers please consider making donations to Melton Mortuary 1200 Harper Rd, Beckley WV, 25801. All donations will be used to pay for his cremation as well as his head stone.
