Phoenix Tucker Obituary

IN MEMORY OF Phoenix Cole Tucker

On September 11, 2019, our perfect baby boy, Phoenix Cole Tucker, was born and spent several minutes with his Mommy and Daddy before spreading his wings and passing on peacefully in his Daddy's arms. He weighed 3lbs. 8oz. and was 11 inches long. His life, like him, was short and sweet, but was spent close to his mommy's heart, where he will forever remain. But, to rise like a Phoenix, we have to first be destroyed.

Phoenix was the son of Jared and Keely Tucker of Beckley, WV, and the precious little brother of Carson and Nora. His paternal grandparents are Robert and Sharon Tucker of Huntington, WV and his maternal grandparents are Brenda Irick and Carie Treadway of Clear Creek, WV. His memory is also cherished by a large number of great grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins from the Tucker, Treadway, Stover and Irick families, too numerous to mention.

A memorial and celebration of Phoenix's pregnancy and life for family and friends will be held at Melton Mortuary on Sunday, September 15th at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Phoenix's memorial Cuddle Cot that may be used by other families who experience similar loss. Alternatively, donations can be made to any stillborn or infant loss support organization in Phoenix's honor. The family would like to express our sincerest gratitude to those that have already graciously donated.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, caregivers and counselors of Cabell Huntington Hospital and Cincinnati Children's Hospital for their compassion and support throughout this difficult journey. In addition, we would like to thank our families and closest friends for being there during an impossible time. We would like to express thanks to Christy Morgan Photography of Ashland, KY for recording both the love and heartache of our experience forever. We will be forever grateful.

Phoenix, the moment that you left us, our hearts were split in two, one half filled with memories and the other died with you.

Phoenix Poem

I'll Be There

Daddy, please don't look so sad,
Mama please don't cry.
Cause I am in the arms of Jesus
And He sings me lullabies.

Please, try not to question God,
Don't think He is unkind.
Don't think He sent me to you,
And then He changed his mind.

You see, I am a special child,
And I'm needed up above.
I'm the special gift you gave Him,
The product of your love.

I'll always be there with you
And watch the sky at night.
Find the brightest star that's gleaming,
That's my halo's brilliant light.

You'll see me in the morning frost,
That mists your window pane.
That's me in the summer showers,
I'll be dancing in the rain.

When you feel a little breeze,
From a gentle wind that blows.
That's me I'll be there,
Planting a kiss on your nose.

When you see a child playing,
And your heart feels a little tug.
That's me I'll be there,
Giving your heart a hug.

So Daddy, please don't look so sad,
Mama don't you cry.
I'm in the arms of Jesus,
And He sings me lullabies.
