Rachel McKnight Obituary

Rachel Lee Scarbro McKnight, 68 of Beckley passed away surrounded by her loved ones, Sunday, August 18, 2019, in Beckley following a short illness. Born November 18, 1950, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Beverage and Maggie Stover Scarbro and the lady who raised her Anna B. Diem.

A 1969 graduate of Clear Fork High School, Rachel was a homemaker who loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed puzzles and watching westerns and in her younger days camping and fishing on New River.  

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by; 2 brothers, Floyd and Harold Scarbro, one sister, Elsie Jones, and one grandson, Philip Endicott Jr., and a great-grandchild, Adriuel Ellison.

She is survived by; two daughters, Melissa Endicott of Colcord WV,
Shiloh Carter and husband Barry of Mocksville NC, two sons, Stephen Endicott Jr and wife Michelle of Mocksville NC, Philip Endicott of Pax WV. And a special “son-in-law” Joey Butler of Colcord WV.

Five granddaughters, Marquita Ellison and husband Brandon of Fairdale WV, Brittany Martin and husband Scotty of Fairdale WV, Chelsie Endicott and companion Chad Robertson of Mocksville NC, Madison Carter of Mocksville NC, Baylee Endicott and companion Jacob Burdette of Beckley WV. One grandson, Nicholas Endicott and companion Micaela Brown of Salisbury NC.

Two great-grandsons, Liam and Calyx Ellison of Fairdale WV, and one great-granddaughter, Alexandra Burdette of Beckley WV.

Five sisters, and four brothers, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, also survive.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date per her request.

Donations of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia in Rachel’s memory.
