Shirley Evans Obituary

Shirley Ann Evans, 83 of Beckley went to be with the Lord on Monday October 7th, 2019 at her home following a long illness. Born March 10th, 1936 in Dunbar she was the daughter of the late John Edison and Hattie Brock Grandstaff.

A member of the First United Methodist Church in Beckley Shirley loved spending time with her grandchildren and caring for her home.

She was preceded in death by; her husband Dr. Charles Martin Evans, one son James Dallas Evans, five brothers Jim, John, William, Jack and Charles Grandstaff.

Shirley is survived by three sons; Charles Michael Evans and fiancée Betsie of Shady Springs, Robert M. Evans and wife Tamara of Beckley, and Samuel E. Evans and wife Sherri of Daniels, three brothers, Jerry Grandstaff and wife Holly of New Martinsville WV, Dick Grandstaff and wife E.J. of Independence LA, and David Grandstaff and wife Malinda of New Martinsville WV, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday October 12, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church on South Heber Street in Beckley. Friends may call at the church from 1:00 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers Donations of sympathy may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at www.LBDA.org or to Hospice of Southern West Virginia at www.hospiceofsouthernwv.org
