Timothy Carl Meeker

Timothy Carl Meeker, 65 of Oak Hill WV passed away at 2 A.M. on October 28, 2019 at the Bowers Hospice House following a long illness. Born February 10th, 1954 in Danville IL he was the son of the late Carl Franklin “Pete” Meeker and Betty June Flannery Meeker of Danville IL.

Tim was a lifelong Coal Miner in southern Illinois and in West Virginia where he retired from Catenary Coal Co. Samples Mine in 2009. He worked as a welder, driller and groundman as a surface coal miner. Tim loved woodworking, was an avid gardener and reader and collector of antiques who loved tractors although he didn’t have any. Tim loved spending time with his grandkids and making things for them.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Debra Lodge Meeker of Oak Hill WV. One daughter, Jessica Wright and husband Monty of Oak Hill, one son, Jeremiah Meeker of Myrtle Beach SC… Two sisters, Cynthia “Cindy” Middendorf and husband Mike of Percy IL, and Penny Golden and husband Ted of Danville IL… Four grandchildren; Kaylee, Lexi, Mason, and Liam and three step-grandchildren; Ryan, Sam, and Holden. And several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.  

At Tim’s request their will be no memorial services. Donations of sympathy may be made to Bowers Hospice House in Beckley WV at 454 Cranberry Dr, Beckley WV 25801.
