Toby Elijah Williams

Toby Elijah Williams of Clear Creek/Mullens, WV, went to his heavenly home on December 22, 2019 at the age of 23.  He was born on January 2, 1996 in Beckley, WV.  Toby Elijah was a 2014 graduate of Liberty High School and Raleigh County ACT in Beckley.

Left to mourn his passing is his mother Kim Dunbar-Shutt and husband Rick Shutt of Mullens.  His dog Zekie.  Father J.B. Williams of Clear Creek.  Grandmother Pam Dunbar of Clear Creek.  Uncle Todd & his wife Martha Dunbar of Glen Daniels.  Half-brother Jeremy Williams.  Uncles Bobby, Harold Dee and Joey Williams all of Clear Creek.  Countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends & family.

Toby Elijah was preceded in death by his grandfather and his idle, Toby Dunbar of Clear Creek.  Paternal Grandparents, Hoten and Nellie Williams of Artie.  Great Grandparents, Clifford and Juanita “Tissie” Dunbar of Beckley, Bill & Juanita Nelson of Colcord.  Aunt Rosalee and Uncle Gary of Wilhelm Ohio.

Toby Elijah was a wonderful young man who had dreams and aspirations to be a better man in this cruel world.  He battled demons that were stronger than he himself ever knew.  He will be remembered for his big smile, his infectious laugh, his spontaneity, that bigger than life personality and a big heart that he wore on his sleeve.  His passion for the people he loved and trusted.  And his gorgeous blue eyes that he knew could get him whatever he wanted.  He had so much potential in his short life.

He loved playing football and loved knowing the guys carrying the ball needed him to have their backs and make a lane.  He also loved playing baseball and playing hind catcher, the “Coal Train” behind the plate.  He loved wrestling, motocross, motorcycles, 4-wheelers & big loud trucks.  He loved big & he loved hard.

He was trying to find his place.  He worked at Wal-Mart, Lowes, Ideal Distributing and most recently at the Mullens Moose Lodge.

Services will be 5PM Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Melton Mortuary Chapel.  Friends may visit with the family at 4PM.
