William Alan Dickenson
A devoted husband and father,
William Alan Dickenson, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 26, 2019, at the CAMC Hospital with his family by his side.
Born October 22, 1962, in Beckley, West Virginia, William was the son of the late Thomas Austin Dickenson and Patricia Ritchie Dickenson of Beckley WV.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 34 years, Patricia G. Dickenson; two daughters, Kaylee Shae Dickenson, and Holly Christen Dickenson, of Beckley, West Virginia; his brother Kimball Thomas Dickenson and his wife of St. Joseph, Michigan.
Alan enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1979. During his service in the Marines, he was awarded the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, and a Good Conduct Medal. Alan received an honorable discharge from the Marines in 1982.
After serving in the Marines, Alan followed his father’s career path as a Lineman, he continued in linework for over 35 years. Before his passing, Alan was a Foreman at Five Star Electric, LLC.
Alan enjoyed vacationing with his family, fishing, watching sports, bowling, and building power lines. Alan was known for his contagious laughter, and his ability to make others feel loved. Alan never knew a stranger and would help anyone in need. Alan was a devoted father and husband to his wife, Patricia, and two daughters, Holly and Kaylee.
Alan will truly be missed by everyone that had the opportunity to know him.
