Adrian Owen Atkins

Adrian Owen Atkins, of Cirtsville, West Virginia, passed away on Saturday, January 8th, 2022 at the age of 88.

Adrian was born in Kingston, West Virginia on August 19th, 1933 to father Owen Garfield Adkins and mother Orpha Mullins Adkins. Adrian was a Veteran of the Korean War where he served as a Combat Engineer. After his service in the active military, Adrian joined the National Guard where he went on to become a Staff Sergeant. Adrian spent many years as a printing press operator for the CIA in Langley, Virginia. He later went on to work as a personal driver for the Commander of the Saudi Naval Expansion Program, and then as a courier between the White House and USAID (US Agency for International Development) with the U.S. Department of State, where he eventually retired.

Adrian was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Atkins Reynolds; grandson Marvin Reynolds; three brothers, Marshall, Gene and Keith Atkins, and a sister, Peggy Joyce Atkins Dunn.

Adrian is survived by his wife of 58 years, Louise Ingraham Atkins; daughter Tina Atkins Gilbert; son Steven Atkins and wife Burdina; daughter Karen Atkins Riggs and husband Tim; and son Erik Atkins as well as 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
