Allie Irene (Jewell) Long

Allie Irene Long from Maple Fork WV went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021. She spent most of her life in Clear Creek WV, where she attended Clear Fork Worship Center in Artie WV. Allie resided in Sinks Grove WV and attended Sinks Grove Baptist Church for the remainder of her life.

Allie Irene Long obtained her masters in elementary education where she served many years for Raleigh County Schools. “Mrs. Long” spent the majority of her teaching career at Clear Fork Elementary School.

Proceeded in death by her Father, Willie Carl Jewell, Mother, Barbara Idell Jewell (Tyree), Siblings: Carl Jewell, Francis Jewell Vandall, Billy Jewell, Irma Jewell Rorrer, and James Jewell. Also her beloved son Randall Long.

Loved ones left to cherish her memories are as follows: Her loving husband of 65 years, Freeman Wade Long. Her daughters Paula Irene Long and Pamela Long Elder (spouse James Gagne).

Grandchildren: Amy Birchfield, Stacy Carroll, Mary Beth Garcia (Husband Mark Garcia), Cheyne Elder, Andrew Tudor, Derek Long (wife Michaella Long), and Brian Long.

Great Grandchildren: Daniel Bennett, Holly Birchfield, Haley, Cammi, and Charlie Brown, Laney, Lily, and Paisley Garcia, Dillon, Logan, and Austin Tudor, and Emersyn Long.

Irene had a love for children and helped many students to succeed. Irene touched many with her kind, caring spirit and she loved her family unconditionally.

Allie Irene was one of a kind wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, teacher, and friend.

Allie will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8th, 2021, at Melton Mortuary in Beckley. Visitation for family and friends will be from 12-1.  She will be entombed at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens following services.

Pallbearers will be Mark Garcia, Cheyne Elder, James Gagne, Derek Long, Brian Long, and Bill Boyko.
