Anthony "Wayne" Thompson, age 46, of Mabscott, West Virginia, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at his home.
Wayne was born February 20, 1979 in Beckley, West Virginia, a son of Gary and Vicki Lynn Thompson.
Wayne attended Independence High School. He was involved in every sport that he could be. Wayne enjoyed being a part of a team and pushing himself when he played. Wayne graduated in 1997 and went straight into the workforce. He worked as a cook for the Holiday Inn Express for many years.
Wayne loved to spend his free time outdoors. He looked forward to every hunting and fishing season. He also loved to go camping in the beautiful West Virginia wilderness. Wayne was often found fishing at Terry Beach.
Wayne loved his family. He spent as often as he could with them. Wayne had a wonderful girlfriend, Candace Smith, that he cherished. Wayne was a bonus parent to Brooklynn Martin. He loved taking care of her and being involved with her life.
He is survived by his parents, Gary and Vicki Thompson; brother, Scott (Amy) Thompson; girlfriend, Candace Smith; and bonus daughter, Brooklynn Martin.
In accordance to his wishes Wayne will be cremated. There will be no memorial services at this time. Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center has the honor of serving the family.
