Barbara Lee Lafferty Obituary

Barbara Baker Lafferty
On Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, Barbara Baker Lafferty passed away at the Bowers Hospice House following a long illness. She was in her 85th year.
The first of three children, Barbara Lee Baker was born in Beckley on November 6th, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Elbert O. and Hattie Ruth Sheppard Baker. Her brother, William Baker has preceded her in death as well. She is survived by her brother, Wayne Baker and his wife, Martha and their family and many cousins.
Barbara spent her childhood on Westwood Drive and was a 1958 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.
She had a long career as a medical secretary, retiring from AL Lee Corporation. Barbara was married to Oak Hill native, Beldon Lafferty who has preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her only child, Susan Littlejohn. Barbara will be remembered for her sweet spirit. She loved animals. A fan of music, especially Elvis she had a great fondness for the beach.
The last few years has been challenging, the loss of Beldon and Susan and the heavy burden of ill health. We like to think Barbara is at peace and all is well.
Per her wishes Barbara has been cremated and her ashes will be scattered off the coast of Emerald Isle
