Barbara Jean Lusk, age 92, of Glen Daniel, West Virginia, was called home Wednesday, September 3, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at Beckley Healthcare Center.

Barbara was born May 10, 1933 in Jesse, West Virginia, a daughter of the late James and Margie Cook. She married the love of her life, Orville Tollison Lusk in January, 1949 in Oceana WV.
Barbara was brought up Baptist and attended the congregation of Guyandotte Baptist Church at Jesse, WV. Barbara was a true homemaker always taking care of, and cooking for her family. Barbara enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and canning. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family, grand-kids, and great-grand-kids.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is greeted at the Eastern Gate by her husband of 71 years Orville; son Rodney Lusk; and granddaughter, Marsha Lynn Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory and await a reunion day are her two sons, Steven Lusk, and Deborah of Glen Daniel, WV and Orville Glen Lusk, and Kay of Mount Hope, WV; Sister Sharon L. Bowden of KY ; grandchildren, Stephen Lusk, and wife Trish of Charleston, WV, Bethany Maltempie, and husband Adam of Beckley, WV, Benjamin Lusk, and wife Kathryn of Oak Hill, WV, Adam Lusk of CT; great-grandchildren, Cameron Maxwell Lusk of Charleston WV, Gabriel Maltempie, Tollison Maltempie, both of Beckley WV, and Seth Lusk of Charleston, WV, and many other extended family that will all miss her dearly.

A funeral service will take place for Barbara on Monday September 15, 2025 at 12:00pm in the Melton Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Tommy Lusk officiating. The family will accept visitors beginning at 11:00am. A private burial will take place in the Cook Cemetery at Jesse, WV.
