Barry Dale Phipps, 75, of Sandlick mountain (Beckley, WV) passed away peacefully with family by his side on April 24, 2025. He was born in Beckley, WV on December 9, 1949 to the late George Franklin and Pansey Lee Phipps.

Dale loved the outdoors, his family, and being home on his "beloved mountain". He was well known for his stories and the fascinating way he told them that always made it feel like you were in the moment. Dale rarely knew a stranger and if you were his friend, then you were a friend for life. He was a wonderful father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lynette Dawn Phipps; and four siblings, Jerry, Paul, Larry, and Charlotte.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Christoper Dale Phipps and his wife Laura Elizabeth Lester, who he often referred to as his "little buddy"; four grandchildren, Caleb Dale Phipps (Joe), Jacob Phipps, Hannah Phipps, and one other grandson.

Dale is survived by multiple siblings which include brothers, Doug (Patti), Darrell (Debbie), John Phipps, Gary (Diana), Jeff Phipps, Michael (Robin); and sisters, Sharon (Bob) Russell, Mary Phipps, Marty Phipps, and Brenda Phipps.

Several special nieces and nephews: Beth, Jason, Juanita, Keith, Ryan, Heather, Steven, Stephanie, Katie, Jeannie, Jenny, and many others he held close to his heart.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated. A memorial lunch will be held in his honor Saturday May 3, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Glenview Independent Baptist Church in the fellowship hall. The address is 1250 Glenview Rd, Crab Orchard, WV, 25827.
