Betty Elaine Walker

Betty Elaine (Cline) Walker went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2023. Betty was the daughter of the Howard and Geneva Cline, both deceased. She is sadly missed by her husband, Dr. Randy Walker; her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Sandy Cline; her nieces, Cathy Davis, Debby Bostic and Sara Greer.
She will also be missed by her brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Mary Walker; her niece, Melissa Irons and her nephew, Brent Walker.
Betty grew up at Glasgow, West Virginia and graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1969. Betty loved music and from an early age took piano lessons from age five through her college years. She taught private piano instruction for more than thirty years.
Betty graduated from Morris Harvey College in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education, K-12. Betty taught elementary music in the Raleigh County School system for thirty one years. She taught at Central Elementary, Piney View Elementary, Stanaford Elementary and finally Crescent Elementary.
She grew up in the Glasgow United Methodist Church. Later, along with her husband, Randy, she became a member of The MacArthur Church of God Worship Center. She sang in the musical ensemble at The Family worship Center, she and Randy later members of the gospel groups, Pure Heart and One Accord.
Betty rarely met stranger. She was friendly and sociable with everyone she met. She helped those in need and had a charitable spirit.
The funeral will be Saturday, April 29th at 1:00 pm in the Melton Mortuary Chapel. The family is receiving friends at 12 noon. Betty will be laid to rest in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity.
Pallbearers at the service will be Rick Waller, Isaiah Irons, Paul Walker, David Bell, James Coombs and Robbie Powell.
