Billy (Bill) Lee Smith was born on April 17, 1952 in Oak Hill, WV to Roy A. and Helen M. Smith. He passed away on October 21st, 2025 in Oak Hill, WV at the age of 73.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Helen Smith; siblings Betty Lively, Mary Meyers, Goldie Stapus, Helen Sizemore, Virginia Hodges, Beulah Schnake, Roy Smith, and Reba Sayers.

Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 38 years, Bonnie Smith; daughters Karen Vaughn and Crystal (Kepple) Bolen; son Jason Morris; grandchildren Ashley Vaughn, Haley Remy, Sydney Vaughn, and Michael Vaughn; great-grandchildren Everson Remy, Briar Ayers, and Roselina Freeman; brothers Charles, Darrel, George, Ray, and John Smith; special cousin and friend, Bruce McCormick; and his best canine friend, Toby.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and vacationing with his family during his free time. He retired from North Fork Southern Railroad as a welder.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 1-3 pm. A celebration of Bill's life will begin at 3 pm at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Per Bill's wishes, following services, cremation will be scheduled.
