Bobbie Jean Wilson

April 7, 1944 ~ August 13, 2023 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Obituary

On August 13th, 2023, after several months of declining health, our sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Bobbie Jean Wilson, passed into eternity. She was in her 79th year.
Bobbie Jean Wilson was born on April 7th, 1944, at Raysal, WV. The only daughter of four siblings, her parents were Emery and Mable Stapleton. Of her siblings, she is survived by Colon Stapleton of Hinton, WV.
Bobbie grew up in Twin Branch, WV and then moved with her family to Lundale WV (close to the location of the famous Buffalo Creek Flood). After graduating from Man High School, Bobbie attended the Surgical Technician School at the Beckley Hospital. She worked as a Surgical Technician on and off for several years at the Beckley Hospital but spent most of her time at home with family and friends.
She was an active member in Beta Sigma Pi which is still active in Beckley today. She remained in touch with chapter members for the remainder of her life. Bobbie was also active in other organizations including being a member of the Red Hat Society and a lifetime member of Moose Lodge 1606.
She was also an avid sports fan, watching football and basketball up to the end of her life. Bobbie was especially fond of WVU football and basketball and would spend many hours talking about it with family and friends or whoever would listen.
Bobbie married Dennis Ray Wilson on October 26, 1963, and started their family. She was very dedicated to her entire family. Her husband passed on April 2nd, 2022, at the age of 81. They had two children, Emery Ray Wilson, and Dennis Matthew Wilson. Sadly, Emery passed on April 11, 2003. Prior to his passing, Emery and his wife, Tena had two children, Matthew Scott Wilson, and Natalie Brook Barlowe. Matthew Scott and his wife, Heather have two children: Suri & Silas Wilson. Natalie Brook Barlowe and her husband, Maxwell has one child: Emarie Brook Barlowe. Dennis Matthew and his wife, Deborah has one child, Alicia. Alicia and her husband (GB) have two children: Alexandra and Jett Fertig.
Her wish was to spend her final weeks living near her daughter-in-law, Tena, and her grand and great-grandchildren. She was very proud of all her grand and great grandchildren and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Bobbie's funeral will be Saturday, August 19th at 12 noon in the Melton Mortuary Chapel. The family is receiving friends at 10:00 am. Bobbie will be laid to rest in the Sunset Memorial Park with Dennis and Emery, and now..... "Oh Glad Reunion."
