Bobby Gene Acord, age 83, of Beckley, West Virginia passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, at Bowers Hospice House.

Bobby was born August 26, 1940, in Naoma, West Virginia, the son of James and Nana Belle Acord. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1964. Bobby was self-employed as a service station and body shop owner. He retired as a security guard. He was a member of Harper Heights Missionary Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother William Clayton Acord.

He is survived by his wife Christine Lynn Acord, sons Gregory Gene Acord and Brian Scott Acord, daughters Lori Lynn Acord and Rachel Belle Hunt; grandchildren Logan David McVey, Emily Grace McVey, and Shawn Joseph Hunt; a sister Janet Lavonne Wood and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, West Virginia with Pastor Delmas Cox officiating. Friends may call from 11:00am to 1:00pm
