Bobby "Bob" Dale Meadows

Bobby “Bob” Dale Meadows, 77 of Beckley went to be with Lord on October 4, 2021.  He was born on May 10, 1944 in Maben, West Virginia to his parents Lonza Sherman and Mabel Edith (Shrewsbury) Meadows.

Bob was preceded in death by his late wife Linda Meadows; parents Lonza and Mabel Meadows; sisters Betty Jean Sizemore and Laura Carolene Vance; nephews Craig Morris and Mike Sizemore; brothers-in-law Tom Barron, Jack Vance, and Jim Sizemore, and his beloved border collie, Tess. 

His is survived by his son Bobby Dale Meadows II of Salem, WV; siblings Imorene Barron of Oak Hill, Dixie L. Harvey of Oak Hill, Sherman Meadows of Daniels, Burlis Meadows of Prosperity, Donna Morris of Dry Hill, and Sandra Trent of Daniels; and many extended family and friends who will miss him.

Bob was a man of many interests and talents. He was a master electrician and taught many safety courses throughout the mining industry.  He was knowledgeable of computers, cars, notably of Corvettes, and flower gardening.  Some of Bob’s happiest times were dancing and spending time with his friends at the Music Hall.  He was a loving and kind man who never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back to help. 

Bob was a man of faith and spent many years attending and teaching Sunday school classes at the Prosperity Baptist Church.

A funeral service celebrating Bob’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Melton Mortuary. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior.  Interment will follow services at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Words of comfort may be offered to the family by visiting www.meltonmortuary.com
