Bobby Gene Sanger Sr, a cherished individual known for his kind, loving, caring, humorous personality and story telling antics departed this earthly life and entered the gates of heaven on October 5, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He died on his precious late daughter Tammy's birthday.

Bobby was born on July 5, 1939 to the late James Martin Sanger and Anna Mae Stewart Sanger.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He was a founding member and a faithful attender of Faith Community Church. He was saved and baptized more than 60 years ago. He dedicated his whole life to serving Jesus.

Bobby along with his dad owned and operated Three Way Amoco filling station in Crab Orchard, WV. Three Way Amoco was the place to hang out, have fun and have a cold bottle of pop. After they had to shut the filling station down due to road construction he worked at Beckley Wrecking, Raleigh Wrecking, WVDOH and Douglas Battery before starting his career at UPS where he worked for over 25 years and gained many friends that were like family to him.

He was a huge WWHS Flying Eagle fan. He played football at WWHS and after playing he became a huge fan of WWHS football, basketball and baseball. You could see him and his son Bobby Gene at almost every home and away game. In his younger years he was a great athlete and in his later years along with his son he was a very accomplished cornhole player.

Besides his parents preceding him in death was his baby sister Margaret Ann, two brothers James Martin Sanger Jr. and Charles Edward Sanger, daughter Tammy Sue Sanger and mother in law and father in law Wiley Monroe and Fannie Elizabeth Taylor.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Betty of 65 years. One son Bobby Gene Sanger Jr. and his wife Jeanie along with their three children: Brantley Hedrick (Chip) and their five children, Rylan, Dahlia, Carter, Madison and Adelynn. Nick Runion (Jessica) and their three children: Justin Ward (Brittini) and their son Stetson. Colleen Runion and Andrew Runion. Joel Runion (Mary Sue) and their son John David. Grandsons Jason Snuffer (Tiffany) along with their 5 children: Caleb, Makayla, Brandon, Alexis and Malik and Jacob Riddle (Haven) along with their son Ryder and an unborn daughter. Three sisters Gloria Hale of Cleveland, Tn., Anna Lee Mann (Jim) of Morrow, Ga. and Brenda Cason (Sam) of Rock Hill, S.C.

Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him.

A celebration of life will be held at Faith Community Church 299 Grey Flats Rd. Beckley, WV. on October 10, 2024. Visitation will be from 11:00 - 2:00 with the funeral at 2:00. Officiating will be Jason Lowe, Sam Peterson, Bobby Gene Sanger Jr., John Sanger and Sam Phillips.

Pallbearers will be: Jason Snuffer, Justin Ward, Andrew Runion, Chip Hedrick, Kerry Mann, Dave Webb, Aaron Mann, Dylan Mann and Barry Clyburn.

A special thanks to Raleigh General Hospital especially the nursing staff of 2 North and Aaron and Linda in CCU.
