Brenda Sue (Linville) Osborn

Brenda Sue (Linville) Osborn, 60 of Durham, NC passed away Tuesday July 2, 2019 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born June 22, 1959 in Madison, WV she was the daughter of the late Ralph Linville and Joyce Turner.

Brenda grew up in Ridgeview in Boone County, WV where she attended Sherman Senior High School. She received an associate degree in Computer Science and Business at St. Petersburg Junior College in Clearwater, FL. Brenda lived for a time in Chicago, Texas, and Florida before settling in Durham, NC. While in Florida, Brenda worked as a Mental Health Technician at Horizon Hospital in Largo, Florida. While in Durham, Brenda stayed at home to home school her daughters before returning to work as a personal trainer for the YMCA specializing in Senior Citizens. She loved going to UNC-Chapel Hill basketball games with her fiancé Eric, gardening, and her dog Sammy.

Brenda is remembered fondly by her family as "the President," being the smartest sibling, and taking on the role of caretaker for her seven siblings from a young age. As an adult she continued to always take care of those around her. She aspired to be a stand-up comedian and children's book author. She always wanted to make everyone around her laugh and believed that "laughter is the best medicine." She is remembered lovingly by her daughters for always putting them first and sacrificing everything for them.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn and Mary, her fiancé Eric Harry, her sisters Beverly, Debbie, Linda, and Denna, brothers Randy, Michael, and Timmy, her grandmother Mary Perdue, uncles Steven, Emory, Lester, and Paul Perdue, Jack and Larry Linville, aunts Delores, Frances, Dottie, Judy, and Kay, many well-loved cousins, nieces Jessica, Linsey, Brandi, Jessica, Lindsey, Willow, and nephews Wayne, Nick, Vic, Chase, and Joseph.

The family asks in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to SEEDS urban garden in Durham, NC. Brenda was cremated at her request and a memorial will be held for her on July 27, 2019.
