Cameron “Cam” Michael Elmore was born on July 18, 2003, in Concord, North Carolina. He passed away suddenly on January 1, 2022, in Mount Hope, West Virginia at the age of 18.
Cam is preceded in death by his father Michael Edward Elmore; paternal grandparents Howard and Betty Lilly; and his maternal grandfather Bobby Locklear. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mom Phyllis Elmore Putnam of Mt. Hope, WV; brothers Christopher Michael (Michele) Harmon of Mt. Hope, WV, Michael Vance (Jessica) Elmore of Dunlap, TN, Ian Nathaniel Putnam of Beckley, WV, Tyler Alexander Elmore of Mt. Hope, WV; sisters Gabrielle Frances Green of Oak Hill, WV, Imala Genice (Jonathan) Harrah of Bradley, WV; grandfather James Martin of New Richmond, WV; significant other Alexis Elaine Faye Hudson and their expected baby of Mt. Hope, WV; nieces Anslei Green, Aspyn Green, Abigail Elmore, and Piper Ashley; nephew Asher Elmore; extended family in NC; several very close and lifetime friends, and a community that cared dearly for him.
Cam was a 2021 graduate of Oak Hill High School and has worked with Buffalo Wild Wings and was currently working with Integrity Tree Services. He was very active in sports and was always giving his all to be a star on the basketball court, track and soccer fields. He was a member of the Cub Scouts Pack 91 of Mount Hope, WV. He loved to hunt and fish, especially with Chris his best friend and brother.
A memorial celebration of Cam’s life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 5 pm at I Heart Church, 294 Crossroads Dr., Mt. Hope, WV 25880. The family will receive friends for visitation two hours prior from 3-5 pm with a dinner following the service. Words of comfort may be offered to the family by visiting www.meltonmortuary.com
