Carolyn M Collins

Carolyn M. Collins, age 86, of Calloway Heights WV, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Bower’s Hospice House surrounded by her loved ones.  Carolyn was born on October 20, 1933 in Skelton, WV. She was the daughter of the late George and Carrie Thornton. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Collins Jr., a former veteran of the U.S. Army.

Carolyn was an employee of several different businesses throughout the Beckley area including store clerk for the Emporium, and manager of Montgomery Ward. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and spending time with her family.  She was a devoted mother and grand-mother and will be greatly missed by her family.

The survivors left to cherish her memory include her daughter Robin Lynch and husband, Charles of Beaver. Three grandchildren, Kristen Stump, Stephanie Lilly and husband Sam, Edward Lynch and wife Anndee. Eight great-grandchildren, Brityn Stump, Isaac Stump, Trace Lilly, Talen Lilly, Elliana Lilly, Austin Lynch, Brady Lynch, and Charlee Lynch. One brother, Gilbert Thornton, and one special niece, Charlene Walker and husband Dale.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.-2:00p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2019 in the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
