Charles William Bragg Jr, age 78, of Fairdale, West Virginia, was reunited with the love of his life, Rosa Lee Bragg on Saturday, March 7, 2026 after a long battle with illness. He fought for 6 long years after Rosa's passing but never fully recovered without his other half. After all this time, Charles and Rosa are finally together again.

Charles was born August 29, 1947 in Beckley, West Virginia, a son of Charles Bragg Sr and Melba Lilly.

One of the accomplishment Charles was most proud of was his military service. He served his country honorably in the United Stated Army. It was something he felt honored to do and was proud of the sacrifice he could make for his family and country.

Charles was a family man through and through. He had a large family with many siblings. Family gatherings were always made up with laughter from all the children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Charles and Rosa had two of their own together, Lawanda and Scottie, that they gave all their love.

In Charles' free time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He would never miss a chance to be in the wild and wonderful West Virginia nature.

Charles is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Rosa Bragg; parents, Charles Sr and Melba Bragg; grandparents, Roy and Hazel Lilly and Tilden Bragg; siblings, Dennis, Janice, James, Eugene, Earl, and David Bragg; and grandchild, Christopher Smith.

Those left to cherish Charles' memory are his children, Lawanda Smith and Scottie Bragg Sr; grandchildren, Amanda Sullivan, Scottie Smith Jr, Felisha Graley, Molly Chambers, and Caleb Smith, great-grandchildren, Brayden Sullivan, Brenna Sullivan, Hunter Gullett, and Kyra Corrigan; siblings, Josephene Bragg, Brenda Rudd, and Hazel Stanley; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and other family and friends who love and miss him.

In accordance with Charles' wishes, there will be no public services. A private memorial will be held by close family and friends at a later date. If anyone would like to send flowers to the family, they can be arranged to be sent through a local florist. Melton Mortuary has the honor of taking care of the family.
