Charles Bert Pauley II "Big Bird", age 69 passed away April 24, 2026, peacefully at the Bowers House in Beckley, WV surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was born in Dayton, OH as a son of the late Charles Bert Pauley Sr., and Christina Evelyn Toney. The family later moved to Dorothy, WV. Charles was a UMWA Member and worked in the coal industry for twenty plus years. He enjoyed playing football and basketball with most boys in the community in his parents' yard.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer LeAnn Pauley, and sister Teresa Price Pauley.

He is survived by a brother Gerald "Jerry"(Debbie) Pauley, a son Adam Pauley(Jacqueline), and daughter Dana(Travis) Conn, five grandchildren Sommer(Jacob), Ransom, Kendra Price(Nolan Williams), Gavin Conn, Autumn Conn, Travis Lee Conn, one great-grandson Braxton Eli Ransom, two special nephews Jason and Aaron Pauley, special niece Sara Price, and two close friends Henry and Judy Buzzard.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday May 5th, 2026, at 2pm in Pineview Cemetery at Orgas WV. Pallbearers will be Adam Pauley, Travis Conn, Jacob Ransom, Nolan Williams, Gavin Conn, and Henry Buzzard.
