Clara "Jeanie" Toney

Clara “Jeanie” Toney, 72 of Crab Orchard went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2021 in Beckley, WV.  She was born on April 14, 1949 in Corrine, WV to her parents Herman Wilford and Naoma Jean (Hylton) Edwards.

Jeanie is preceded in death by her parents Herman Wilford and Naoma Jean (Hylton) Edwards; brothers Kevin Edwards and Alan Edwards.  She leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving husband of 49 years, Oran D. Toney; daughter Meredith (Ted) Shepherd; sons Deron Toney and Brian Toney; grandchildren Holleigh, Logan, Jerry, Joshua, Zachary, Lauren and Natalie; great-granddaughter Alivia; great-grandson Easton; a great-grandson on his way in December, Marshall; brothers Gary (Brenda) Edwards, Curt (Missy) Edwards; and many extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Jeanie enjoyed free time traveling and being on the road.  She was a caring and giving woman who loved to take care of her cats and most importantly taking care of her family. 

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 11 am – 1 pm at the chapel of Melton Mortuary.  A funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Raleigh County Humane Society in memory of Jeanie.  Words of comfort may be offered to the family by visiting www.meltonmortuary.com  For those who wish to attend funeral services, we request that masks be worn and to please practice social distancing.
