Clarence Civitillo Obituary
Clarence Cary Civitillo, born December 23, 1936, passed away in Beckley, West Virginia, surrounded by his family's love. He was the son of Joseph Anthony Civitillo and Maysle Carrina Thompson, and was preceded in death by his beloved wife Pansy, his parents, as well as his siblings Joseph, Annie, and Harold "Butch".
Clarence graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1954. In 1957, he married the love of his life, Pansy, and together they built a family grounded in devotion, hard work, and deep affection. They welcomed two daughters: Debra Lee MacAulay, born in 1958, and Pamela Jane Civitillo, born in 1963.
Clarence lived most of his life in Parkersburg, West Virginia, where he enjoyed a long and dedicated career with Corning Glass, Borg Warner Chemicals, and GE Plastics. He was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and reliability. Outside of his professional life, he had a passion for organic farming, tending the land with patience and pride. He was also a proud member of the Loyal Order of the Moose (LOOM).
He is survived by his daughters, Debra Lee and Pamela Jane, and by Debra's children: Arrienne, Cara, Bryce and his wife Lara, and their children Evander, Finnegan, and twin daughters. Clarence's legacy continues through each of them, carried forward in their memories, values, and stories.
Clarence will be remembered for his quiet strength, his deep loyalty to family, and the steady, reassuring presence he offered throughout his life. His family takes comfort in knowing he is reunited with his wife and loved ones who passed before him.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 13th at 11:00 am in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park. Clarence will lie in repose on Sunday, April 12th in the Melton Mortuary Chapel from 7 to 8 pm. The Vigil Prayer service will be at 8:00pm.
