Clint O. Vernieu

Clint O. Vernieu, 23, passed away unexpectedly on September 29th, 2019. He was born February 21, 1996 in Evans Army Community Hospital at Fort Carson, Colorado; the son of Clinton and Darlene Vernieu.

Clint was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He attended schools in North Carolina, West Virginia, and Hohenfels, Germany. While in Germany he attended school on the Army instillation, played soccer, basketball, and even learned to speak a little German.

Despite having his own personal trials, Clint often articulated a yearning deep in his heart to be of service to others. He desired to serve his country in the U.S. military and was working with recruiters regarding his eligibility to serve. He loved going to the gym and practicing Jiu-Jitsu at Butch Hiles Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu &; MMA, LLC, and spoke very highly of the staff and his friends there. He also participated in several amateur competitions and dreamed of someday going professional. Clint had a kind heart and a contagious smile that shone brightest in his blue eyes.

Clint is survived by his mother Darlene Vernieu (Ewing); father and stepmother Clinton and Maddy Vernieu; his brothers Ralph and Christopher; his sisters Michelle(John), Tiffany(Ryan), Adriana, and Maria; his Aunt Tina Ellison and Uncle John Ellison; as well as a host of other friends and family. He was very loved and will be missed dearly by his family who seek comfort in the knowledge that he is surrounded by love in the arms of his Heavenly Father.

Arrangements are being handled by the Melton Mortuary in Beckley, WV. Visitation and service will be held on Wednesday October 9th, 2019 at Melton Mortuary. Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 3:00pm with a memorial service to follow.
