Danny Ray Graham
Danny Ray Graham, of Crab Orchard, West Virginia was called home to paradise on Thursday, December 19th, 2019, in Bowers Hospice House surrounded by family and friends. He had battle cancer for just a short period of time along with other prolonged illness.
Born in Stotesbury, West Virginia on May 29th, 1950, to the parents of the late Tracy and Donna Keffer Graham Keesee Reed, Danny also had a loving stepfather the late Raymond Keesee.
Danny was a coal miner and a state mine- safety inspector leaving work with disabilities. Danny loved going to church with his wife and being with his Christian friends. He belonged to the Little Bethel Church, Mount View Road, Cool Ridge.
Danny attended grade school in Crab Orchard; he also attended Beckley Junior High and Woodrow Wilson High School.
Danny loved to sing and entertain his friends and family. He sang around the Beckley area for years. This will surely be missed by all.
In addition to his mother, father and step-father, he was preceded in death by brother, Hobart (Eugene) Graham who was killed in an automobile accident in 1963 and William (Bill) Graham who was also taken with cancer in 2010.
Those left cherish his memory include his loving wife, Carla Lilly Graham, the love of his life; his estranged children, Danny Ray Graham II and Donna Louise Graham; also his loving step children, Jeffrey (April) Benfield, Mathew (Jessa) Benfield and Shawn (Ashley) Benfield; two grandchildren, Braydan and Brenna Graham and his loving step children, Annalee (David) Harvey, Braedyn, Sophie, Rowan, Mason and Lani Benfield; his brothers, Freddy (Erma) Graham of Coal City, James Graham (Barbara) Of Crab Orchard ; his sisters, Carol Childs (Daniel “Bo”) of Crab Orchard, Mary Meadows of Proctorville, Ohio, Teresa Pettry (Danny ) of Beckley ; sister-in-law’s, Sue Graham of Coal City, Jo Simpson (Bill), Bobby Lilly, Sue Utt (Bill), Debbie Bennett and Thella Brittingham. He leaves behind three aunts, many cousins and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and a very special friend who he called (his special brother, Danny Hutchens and his very special little buddy….Boo.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Bowers Hospice House for making Danny’s last hours restful and comfortable while comforting the family and friends. Donations are to be made to Bowers Hospice House in memory of Danny.
Danny wished to be cremated. Melton Mortuary has taken care of the arrangements. Condolences can be made to the family on at meltonmortuary.com Memorial services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 23rd at 1:00 pm. The Rev. Bill Calhoun and Bishop Tim Akers will be officiating. Friends may call between 11:00 am and 1:00pm.
