Mr. Danny Lee Nary Sr., 85, of Beckley, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, July 18, 2024 after battling a long illness.

Danny was born on October 23rd, 1938 to David Russell Nary and Inez Hannah Nary. Upon his passing, he is reunited with his late wife Shirley Elaine Nary, his daughter, Denise Elaine Nary, brother David "Russell", and sisters, Opal, Cecilia, Reba, and Linda.

Danny attended Woodrow Wilson High School, and thereafter served in the US Navy on the USS Eugene A Greene. He worked many years for Eastern Coal as a mine foreman. He was a business owner of Beckley Asphalt, and Paving, and later returned to the coal industry at the clean coal preparation plant in Kanawha County. He worked hard for everything he earned in this life, and shared with those he loved.

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and gardening, spending time with family on the boat out on the lake, and trips to the beach. He liked to tell a good joke, and liked even more to tell a bad one. He was always available to lend a hand and help in any way he was asked, and asked for very little in return. As a brother, father, "Pawpaw", great grandfather, uncle, and friend, he will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.

He is survived by his partner Melba Bailey Reid, his sister Lucille Foster, two sons, Danny Lee Nary Jr., and David Arthur Nary, four granddaughters, Jennifer Boggess Stone, Ashleigh Nicole Nary, Takayla Angelene Nary, and Katie Noelle Black, three great granddaughters, and many other family members and friends.
