Daryl Williams Obituary

Daryl Randolph Williams, 91 years old, of Beaver, WV passed away peacefully at Bowers Hospice House on June 12, 2020, with family at his side.  Born on February 13, 1929, in Sophia, WV, he was the son of the late Walter W. Williams and Marigold Jones Basham.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Kelli Nebling, and husband, JD, of Villa Rica, GA, daughter Susan Weaver, and husband Jerry, of Birmingham, AL, sister Ilene Barr, of Daniels, WV, Aretta Harvey of MacArthur WV, brother, Ronnie Basham, and wife, Sue of Wake Forest, NC, and Leon Basham and Kitty, of Louisburg, NC, granddaughter Kati Deason, and husband, David, of Trussville, AL,  granddaughter Savanna Nebling, of Villa Rica, GA, Karen Bailey, and husband, Donnie, of Charleston, WV, grandson Shane Mantz, of Jacksonville, FL, great-grandson Conner Bailey, and many nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Kathryn “Kitty” Sue Williams and son, Mark Williams. 

Prior to retiring, Daryl served in the United States Army and was President of Daryl R. Williams Builder- Developer Inc.   Part of his accomplishments during his successful career were building of The Char restaurant in Beckley,  development, and building of homes in Shan-Lyn-Le Village subdivision (named after his three children) in Daniels, development, and building of homes in Cherry Hill subdivision in Beaver, development, and building of Cherrywood Terrace apartments, condominiums, and townhouses in Beaver, the building of some homes in Woodcrest subdivision, and the building of some homes in Stanaford Acres subdivision, along with various other homes in the Beckley area.  Daryl was an avid Nascar and WVU football fan.  In his earlier years, he enjoyed fishing and boating.  

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, his visitation and service will be held privately.  Private funeral services for Daryl will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at the Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center Chapel in Beckley with Pastor Don Kelly officiating.  Military Funerals Honors and entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Garden’s graveside alongside Kitty Sue and Daryl’s private mausoleum. 

Pallbearers are JD Nebling, Doug Robinson, Nick Robinson, and family.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Bowers Hospice House for the love, care, and support they provided Daryl and his family. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bowers Hospice House 454 Cranberry Dr. Beckley, WV 25801.
