David Ocie Coots

David Ocie Coots of Beckley, West Virginia passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021, at the age of 81. After several months of declining health, David died peacefully with his family by his side. 

David was born in Ameagle, West Virginia on July 6, 1940, to father Raymond Coots and mother Sibyl Miller Coots. He was the youngest of five sons and one daughter.

On August 27, 1965, David married his wife Susie Spence Coots.  David and Sue had three sons, David, Jeffrey, and Timothy.  David was a God-fearing man who worked his whole life to support his family. 

In retirement, he loved trout fishing with his sons and grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers Lawrence, Claude, Paul, and John, and his sister JoAnne. 

He is survived by his wife Susie Spence Coots; son, David Coots of Cumming, Georgia, son, Jeff Coots and wife Kay of Commerce, Georgia, son, Tim Coots and wife JoAnn of Cabin Creek, West Virginia; grandchildren Leonard Browning, Brody Browning, Brandon Coots, Ashley Coots, and Paytton Coots as well as numerous great-grandchildren. 

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 14th at 12 noon at Homeschool Presbyterian Church in Colcord WV with Rev. Ronnie Miller officiating.
