Deborah Kaye (Browning) Goff, 65 of Huntington, WV and formerly of Wharncliffe, WV, departed this life on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV.


Born October 6, 1959 in South Williamson, KY, Deborah was the daughter of the late Troy and Delphia (Blankenship) Browning. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, Roy Goff Sr. and a sister-in-law, Donna May.


Deborah is survived by her husband; Roy Goff Jr., son; Reese Goff of the home, sister; Wanda G. Adkins of Verdunville, WV, brother; Riley D. Browning of Verdunville, WV, sister; Dianna (James) Baxter of Racine, OH, brother; Troy (April) Browning of Williamson, WV, father-in-law and mother-in-law; Fred and Betty Morgan of Spring Hill, FL, sister-in-law; Susan (Scooter) Jude of Varney, WV, and sister-in-law; Crystal (Derek) Browning of Gilbert, WV. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, friends, and her dog, Jack.


Deborah was a 1978 graduate of Gilbert High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Marshall University in 1983. She also earned her Master's degree from Marshall University Graduate College in 1986.


Deborah was a retired classroom teacher and was employed by the Mingo County Board of Education for twenty years. Her dedication to her job and to her students went above and beyond all expectations. Her creativity in all classroom activities was second to none. Deborah was a born again Christian who spent a great deal of her time studying the scriptures. She would also spend time in Bible study discussions with others. She always looked to Christ as her shining light and for her daily guidance. Deborah's contagious smile, warm personality, and loving heart will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. All are invited to join her in Heaven at the appointed time where they too can be with her forever in the Glory of Eternal Paradise.

Melton Mortuary in Beckley, WV is serving the Goff family. A celebration of Deborah's wonderful life will be held on Saturday March 8th, 2025 at 7pm at the Hanover Missionary Baptist Church in Hanover, WV. The family will accept visitors beginning at 5pm. The family extends a great deal of gratitude to the staff at St. Mary's Hospital as well as to those of the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
