Delores Jean Haines (Holliday), 79, born on December 29th, 1945 of Beckley, West Virginia was called home to be with the Lord on February 2nd, 2025 after a long illness. She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. In her youth, Delores was crowned Miss West Virginia Rhododendron Teen Volunteer, and pursued her passion for dance by training in ballet before opening her own studio.
Delores was raised Baptist and had strong faith. She deeply loved her family and enjoyed spending all her time with them. Some of her favorite memories were weekly shopping sprees with her mother and sister, family gatherings at Flat Top Lake, trips to Florida, and the joy of becoming a grandmother. Delores will be fondly remembered for her caring heart, nurturing ways, and great sense of style. She was a lifelong resident and owner of her family's business, Beckley Welding Supply, Inc..
Delores is survived by her son, Robert J. Haines, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Karen M. K. Haines, her grandson, Nathan Utt Haines, Nathan's mother, Terra J. Utt, her sister-in-law, Marguerite A. Webb, her sister-in-law, Donna Haines, many nieces, nephews, and close cousins. Delores was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband of 60 years, Robert J. Haines, Sr., their beloved son, Shawn D. Haines, her parents, William David "Dee" Holliday Sr. and Betty Lou Weaver Holliday, her brothers, Donald Phelps Holliday and William David Holliday Jr., her sister, Diann E. Srednicki, her brother-in-law, Edward Srednicki, her-in-laws, Charles K. Haines and Margaret M. Adams Haines, her sister-in-law, Elaine M. Williams, her brother-in-law, Charles W. Haines, and her nephew, William David Holliday III.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 9th, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a private funeral service at Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center. Expressions of sympathy and condolences may be offered to the family by visiting www.meltonmortuary.com.
