Dennis Lee Adkins Obituary

Dennis Lee Adkins, age 52, of Beckley, West Virginia,  passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

 

He was born August 8, 1972 in Beckley, West Virginia, a son of Ralph and Norma Adkins. Dennis married the love of his life, Laura Mitchem and they spent 2 wonderful years together. 

 

Dennis loved to spend his time hunting and fishing. He was passionate about survival skills and nature. He loved to talk to and educate anyone who was interested about nature. 

 

He had a big heart for those around him. He helped to build many homes for people. Dennis spent many years working as a carpenter and perfecting his craft. Dennis took pride in creating homes for people. 

 

Dennis surrounded himself with his family. He helped to take care of his mother. He was her rock and she was his. Dennis did anything and everything he could to take care of her and his siblings. He spent as much time as he could with grandbabies. They built lasting memories that they will hold close to their heart. His family all loved him dearly and he will be greatly and forever missed. 

 

He will be reunited with his dad Ralph Adkins; sister and her husband, Brenda and Danny Bradley; nephew, Danny Daff; niece, April Davis; Uncle, Ervil Bennett; the love of his life, Laura Adkins; and his beautiful dogs, Angel, Rockie, Lady, Twenny, and Baby Girl.

 

Those that are left behind to hold on to and love his memory are his mother, Norma Adkins; brother, Ralph Williams Adkins; niece, Tina (Michael) Harrison; cousins, Tammy (Charles) Windsor, Harless (Debbie) Adkins, Raymond (Tina) Adkins, Paul (Patty) Adkins, Mary (Buzz) Catherine Boggs, and Vera Ann; sister, Christine (Roy) Lilly;  nephews, Dennis Lilly, Cash Lynch, Samuel Davis, Colton Cox, Dalton Cox, and Ashton Davis; nieces, Angie Lilly, Kasey Lilly, Bailey Lilly, Emily Davis, and Kylie Davis; sons, Johnathen Slone and Dennis (Sabrina) Lee Adkins Jr; grandchildren, Aden, Dakota, Abel, Legend, and Cainen. 

 

In accordance with his wishes, Dennis will be cremated and laid to rest under his favorite peach tree. Melton Mortuary has the honor of taking care of the family. Condolences can be left on the Melton Mortuary website.
