Dennis Polk Obituary

Dennis Alan Polk went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 11, 2024 at the Bowers Hospice House of Southern West Virginia.
Born February 17, 1951, he was the son of the late James and Mary Polk.
Dennis previously worked for Mabscott Supply Company driving their truck and, after leaving them, continued working as a cross-country truck driver.
Dennis was a faithful member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church for thirteen years where he served as a trustee and in other capacities as well. He loved God and God's Word. He studied the Bible at church and with his beloved wife, Carol, to learn as much as he could about God from the Bible. He distributed hundreds of his own personally printed leaflets encouraging people to read the Bible and trust Christ.
As a former truck driver, he was involved in the church's ministry to truck drivers at the travel plaza. He personally took on ministries for the homeless and frequently collected clothing to distribute. From his own garden, he provided food for meals for the homeless.
Dennis found joy in being with young people. He and Carol often went the extra mile to be a positive influence on them and encourage them to love God and others.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his wife Carol Polk, son Alan Polk, and, brothers James Robert Polk and John Druery.
Dennis is survived by brothers Richard, Phillip, Danny, and Wayne; sisters Cathy, Wanda and Melissa; and, multiple nephews and nieces.
