Denver Ray Milam Obituary

Denver Ray " Jug " Milam 78 of Fairdale WV Died on March 28,2026 at Select Special Hospital Charleston, West Virginia.

Denver was born on May 4,1947 at Ury, West Virginia. to Walter J. & Rebecca Milam.

Denver attended Mark Twain High School until his senior year. Denver transferred and went to school at Sophia High School. It was here that Denver enjoyed playing football and graduated In 1966.

Denver spent his entire working life at Eastern/Peabody Coal. After many years of faithful service, Denver retired In 1995.

Denver grew up attending Ury Community Church. He was proud to still be a devoted attendee at this church before he passed.

In addition to his parents, Denver is preceded in death by his siblings, Doug (Ethel) Milam, Archie (Janice) Milam, Louise (Randall) White, Shirley (Roy) Young, Mary (Roy) Ingram, and Shelby (David) Keith; mother and father-in-Law, Paul & Elva Greene; and brother-in-law, Joe Greene.

Jug loved spending his time fishing and always enjoyed coon hunting. Denver loved spending his time in "The Great Out Doors".

Those left to cherish his memory are his best friend and run around buddy, Gloria (Jackie) Milam Counts, brother, Cleve (Nancy) Milam, daughters, Rachel Milam and Rebecca Milam; grandchildren, Haley Milam, Joey Milam, and Glory Rayne Milam; Great Grandson Christian Ray (due this May); special nephew, Richie (Jennifer) Milam who was the son he never had: special friends, Tommy Joe Cook And Tish Smith; sister-in-law, Bonnie Greene; many great nieces, nephews, and cousins that Denver loved dearly.

A special Thank You to the nurses, Cody and Tina at CAMC for the care they gave to Denver.

In accordance with Denver wishes, he will be cremated and private service will be held at a later date. Melton Mortuary has the honor of taking care of the family. Messages of condolences and support can be left on Denver's obituary located on the Melton Mortuary website.
